The mold used was very accurate as to where the proper placement of the top mounting holes are to be drilled (you do this yourself). However there are no other places for mounting on the grill as the 4 lower mounting clips are not formed on this grill. I had to use TC-105 aluminum tie down strips with epoxy to zip tie the bottom of the grill to secure it to the car. No one will ever see it so it is not a big deal. The mesh is rather transparent and you will be able to see your radiator and the mounting bracket very well. I ended up putting a tighter weaved black rubber coated mesh behind the mesh it came with. This was easy to do considering all that held the original mesh in place were a few metal tabs or you could just replace the original grill material all together. I then used epoxy to secure it all and it looks great! Overall this is a good product and it is cheap but, you will need to come up with your own solutions to secure it and further customize it. Hope this helps your decision!
Had to drill holes but it is such a poor fit, even if you still them to the very edge with 1/16" material on the edge it still won't reach the holes, not using the grill. Super unsatisfied.
Fitment isn't bad but be ready to customize. Most mounting holes aren't pre-drilled. Also the mesh grill wasn't attached very well, I had to get creative to get it to stay. I painted it the same color as the car and it looks great installed.
Stay away from this horrible mess of an excuse for not getting an OEM subaru grille. Its made of brittle fiberglass with - no joke - a gutter screen stapled inside. Besides NOT having screw holes pre drilled, the fiberglass cracks after you have drilled them, and try to screw it in. It looks like someone is trying to make a quick buck by making these in their basement.
A waste of $200.
Very cheap, you have to cut it down to actually make it fit, stay away from this junk!
This quality of the hardware are bad really bad basically it’s just a chicken grill they put on the fiber glass really cheap.
I think this grille looks much better than stock, with its understated simplicity. I was excited to find it is made of fiberglass and not ABS! The matte black actually looks good on my black car, so I didnt paint it. The mesh is gloss black.
Installing this grille should be done by an experienced person. There are no holes pre-drilled, and although there are dimples for where to drill, this is a fiberglass product, and anyone that has worked with fiberglass parts knows this stuff never lines up outa the box. My grille fit the car perfectly once the holes were drilled and it was mounted to the bumper.
