This beautiful vintage Mosaic bouquet of flowers is a round pendant that is set in gold-tone metal and has a rope like design frame with a raised center. There are two geometric dangles that hang from the bottom of the round pendant. The flower design features red, yellow, and pink glass. The background is a turquoise blue. The tiny pieces of glass beads have been applied in a mosaic pattern to create the flowers. It is stamped on the back, Italy.

Italy is famous for it's art of mosaics. Micromosaic is a special form of mosaic that uses unusually small mosaic pieces (tesserae) of glass. The artists who create this jewelry have amazing skill to be able to create the intricate designs from the small pieces of glass.

It is in good vintage condition with one black tile missing (see arrow in picture). I thought it might be missing two little tiles (the turquoise and white triangles) on each side at the 9:00 and 3:00 position, but I think it was made without them being there. There doesn't seem to be enough room for them to have been placed in the spaces. The back is solid. The pendant measures a total of 2 ¼ inches in length. The round part of the pendant is 1 ¼ inches in diameter. Each dangle is 3/4 of an inch long. I have taken many pictures and enlarged them so you can see the details for yourself. Please look at the photographs as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.  I have not cleaned this, I did not want to risk damaging it.
