Adorable, hand carved penguin and chick. Signed "Berra". It is Canadian, from Thorn Arts, Nanaimo B.C. It aappears to be a carved from a block of plaster. The back, wings and the tops of the head are textured.  What makes this piece are the expressions, and the chick's enthusiastic wing spread. It is in perfect condition. It comes from a smoke and pet free environment.
