Pelmet is a narrow border of cloth or wood, decorative cornice or valance, fitted across the top of a door or window to conceal the curtain fittings. Word “pelmet” has a French origin and spelled “palmette”.

This Pattern is called The Khiva Lambrequin and was originally designed for the “Englishwoman’s Domestic Magazine” by Mesdames Le Boutillier (1852 -1879).

Stitch a single motif of this antique pelmet or repeat the pattern as many times as you want. In the design I repeated it 3 times. Choose your own background color of the fabric.

DMC colors are selected from my personal full set of DMC floss samplers to match the existing colors of the old hand-painted pattern printout. DMC colors are suggested, not binding/obligatory and can be changed per your needs or preferences. Feel free to choose your own DMC colors.

Please, note that design images are shown on different colors of aida fabric for your visual on how different colors of background change the whole design. Feel free to choose any background color for your personal preference.
