Large Vintage Sterling / Gold Bouquet Brooch

This large sterling brooch was from the estate of an avid collector / dealer and according to the family was acquired in the 1960’s.

It is a superb swirl / coil shaped base with 8 golden stems topped by a potpourri of faux gem colored buds.

There are two each in ruby, sapphire, canary yellow, and diamond white, emerald.

Each bud contains a faceted glass stone encased in a gold tone prong setting.

When the light catches it the stones glow like a bud vase BOUQUET full of flowers. TRULY eye-catching!

To add to its appeal there is a large Tourmaline look alike colored and emerald square cut faceted glass stone (appx. 13.5 carats) in the center of the piece.

This large stone is at the base of the gold floral stems. It is open on all sides and held in place by 4 strong silver prongs.

This is possibly semi precious????

There are many focal points to this piece from the broad coiled base, to the dramatic center stone to the rainbow of colored buds emerging at the top of the delicate golden stems.

I have not found a peer on the Web.

IT'S LIKE A BOUQUET!

The clasp and pin function as they should.  It can be worn horizontal, vertical, or on an angle.

Anyone knowledgeable about costume  jewelry knows that some significant manufactures did not always mark their pieces, especially some limited runs.

This brooch is clearly stamped “STERLING”.

It is over 3” long and 1 1/2” wide at a hefty 18.9 grams.

There is no hallmark.. This statement piece is a great year round fashion accessory.

Had it been definitely hallmarked the cost would be higher. Still a priceless piece and a one of ???
