Vintage Retired Disney Beauty And The Beast Belle Dance Retired Coffee Mug Cup

For all fans of the 1991 Walt Disney Pictures animated feature Beauty and the Beast, this is a clean, lightly used retired coffee mug featuring Belle, Beast, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs Potts, and Chip.  This brightly colored mug has a lovely panorama of Belle and The Beast dancing surrounded by cherry blossoms with an enchanted castle in the background.

Beauty and the Beast is the 30th film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series and the third in the Disney Renaissance period.  Based on the French fairy tale of the same name by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, the story focuses on the relationship between the Beast, a prince who is magically transformed into a monster as punishment for his arrogance, and Belle, a beautiful young woman whom he imprisons in his castle.  To become a prince again, Beast must win her love, or risk the fate of remaining a monster forever.

The mug has a dance scene on one side with Belle, a bibliophilic and beautiful young girl who seeks adventure who offers her own freedom to the Beast in return for her father's, and the Beast, a young prince who is transformed into a beast by a beautiful enchantress as punishment for his arrogance.  The Beast has the head structure and horns of an American bison, the arms and body of a bear, the ears of a deer, the eyebrows of a gorilla, the jaws, teeth, and mane of a lion, the tusks of a wild boar and the legs and tail of a wolf.

The other side of the mug features Mrs Potts, the castle cook, turned into a teapot, who takes a motherly attitude toward Belle and her son Chip,who has been turned into a teacup, along with Lumiere, the kind-hearted but rebellious maître d'hotel of the Beast's castle, who has been transformed into a candlestick and Cogsworth, the head of the household staff and Lumiere's best friend, who has been transformed into a clock.  A running gag throughout the movie is Lumiere burning Cogsworth.
