Welcome to My Rough Room. Here you will find merchandise that do not measure up to my specifications of VG+ or above in order to be listed with my other items. I don't have the heart to discard these items as they still have a lot of inherent play value left in them. Therefore, I list these items at a substantial discount in the hope that someone will give them a new and "forever home." In order to keep the prices lower, I do not clean items residing in My Rough Room.

Here is a CLASSIC, Vintage Fisher Price Pick Up 'N Peek #507 Farm Animals Puzzle for your consideration. This puzzle consists of 9 individual pieces, each of which is equipped with a yellow peg to help little fingers easily remove the pieces from the puzzle. The puzzle was designed for 1 1/2-3 year old children which makes it ideal as a first puzzle with young children. What young child isn't enamored by farm animals?

 Manufactured between 1972-84, this puzzle has been a mainstay in many preschool or daycare settings over the years. The graphics on this puzzle are ENDEARING! All of the pieces, when removed, have an underlying litho depicting that animal in its natural habitat.

Another great feature of this puzzle is that it pairs the written word or print with each animal's likeness---thus, encouraging the development of a child's emergent literacy skills (e.g. that print has meaning, that spoken words can be written down etc.).

In addition, this is a WONDERFUL puzzle to reinforce beginning language concepts. For example, children love singing the venerable childhood favorite, "Old MacDonald Has a Farm," while putting this puzzle together (e.g. "and on this farm he had a _______" etc.; they also enjoy games such as, "What animal says, "Cock-a-doodle doo?" ). The latter activity is especially helpful for children who are late talkers.

Imitating non-speech sounds (like "moo, baa, quack quack, ruff ruff) helps them acquire sounds that can later be shaped into meaningful words. Moreover, their manipulation of the pieces, which will stand up on a flat surface, and using the different animal sounds gives them ample practice opportunities in a non-stressful situation.

 The difficulty level of this puzzle coincides perfectly with an 18 -24 month old child's expanding speech sound inventory and fund of words. I personally used identical puzzles as a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist to help young children expand their language skills. This puzzle provides a great way to highlight these sounds and assorted vocabulary.

In my opinion, this particular puzzle warrants an VG-VG+rating. After repeatedly inspecting this puzzle, the only "flaws" I can spy are:

1. Some minor edge wear on most of the puzzle pieces;

2. Some mild to moderate paint loss on the horse and scarecrow;

3. Some wrinkling of the interior pig litho; it appears to have been caused by the puzzle being stored on top of another peg puzzle; when other items were stacked on top of the Farm puzzle, the underlying peg poked through the back of the puzzle and caused the litho to wrinkle; similarly, another peg appears to have created a couple of shallow indentations un the back side of the cow interior litho; the latter, however, does not seem to have been damaged in any way;

4. The back of the puzzle is separating from its other wood layers; I'll be correcting this with Rubber Cement and a heavy duty clamp; this will remedy the situation;

5. Some scattered circle impressions on the back of the puzzle due to excess pressure being applied to other underlying peg puzzles;

6. Some generalized light soiling and wear on the left edge of the rear of the puzzle; it's doubtful that this will be corrected during the cleaning process; and

7. A few of the pieces (rooster and hen, horse's tail, and cow's head) are missing a layer of wood on the back side of their pieces; to be on the safe side, the new owner may wish to apply a protective coating of varnish or laminate (?) on the back of these particular pieces.

While not legible in my photos, faint remnants of the stamp applied on the back of the puzzle indicates this puzzle was manufactured in Holland for Fisher Price toys, copyright 1971-1971-1973-1976, the Quaker Oats Company. Given the amount of use this puzzle undoubtedly had over the years, it's still in playable condition.

This CLASSIC wood puzzle embodies Fisher Price's reputation for durable, engaging toys. The puzzle weighs 1 lb. 3 oz. UNWRAPPED and my location is Lafayette, IN (47905).

I'm more than willing to combine purchases to save on shipping costs. ALL I ASK IS THAT BUYERS CONTACT ME PRIOR TO PURCHASING MULTIPLE ITEMS SO I CAN MAKE A COMBINED INVOICE. OTHERWISE, THE BONANZA SHIPPING CALCULATOR MAY OVERCHARGE YOU ON SHIPPING AND I WILL BE CHARGED MULTIPLE TRANSACTION FEES BY PAYPAL.

I'm willing to ship items to Canada. However, be advised that the shipping costs to Canada are much higher than here in the mainland United States. If you wish to obtain a shipping quote prior to purchasing the item, please contact me and I will research the shipping costs. I charge the ACTUAL shipping rate. I utilize First Class Priority International for packages weighing less than 4 lbs. and USPS Priority International for packages heavier than that to Canada. Insurance is required for all International shipments(except for First Class International). Unfortunately, the USPS doesn't sell insurance for First Class International packages but only for Priority Mail International. Finally, international customers are responsible for any inherent Custom's fees, VAT's, duties or brokerage fees.

PayPal is the preferred manner of payment. All payments are due within 5 business days of the listing's conclusion.

I also accept bank-issued Cashier's Checks and Postal Money Orders. Due to my bank's policies, I am unable to ship your item until these forms of payment clear my bank (usually within 3 business days). Please contact me if you would like to pay via a Cashier's Check or a Postal Money Order.

The price listed is for the item itself. The total amount due will be the purchase price of the item + the ACTUAL shipping cost to deliver your item to you. All shipping costs or extra fees (in the case of Canadian shipments) are the responsibility of the buyer. I will do everything in my power to find you the cheapest shipping rate—-whether it’s the USPS (First Class, Parcel, or Priority), Fed Ex, or UPS. I DO NOT PAD MY SHIPPING COSTS—-NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL! I SHIP WITHIN 48 HOURS OF A CLEARED PAYMENT.

I primarily utilize Fed Ex Home Delivery for items exceeding 5 lbs. in weight, measuring greater than 12 inches in any dimension, or traveling longer distances. I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.

In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.

Since Bonanza's shipping calculator does NOT offer Fed Ex Home Delivery as a shipping option, PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL I HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO MANUALLY CHECK THESE RATES AND INSERT THEM INTO YOUR INVOICE. Otherwise, the shipping calculator may overcharge you.

Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.

I’m more than willing to combine multiple purchases into one box whenever it is safe to do so to decrease your shipping costs. Once again, PLEASE wait to check out until I can combine your purchases on ONE INVOICE and can calculate their combined shipping rate via Fed Ex. If you pay for these items separately, I get charged multiple transaction fees by PayPal plus you get over-charged on your shipping. Of course, I will refund you any amount over $1.00 that you've overpaid on shipping. However, it's easier on both of us if you wait until I can send you the correct amount.

I’m more than happy to ship selected play sets to Canada. Remember that shipping to Canada can be quite expensive so please contact me for a shipping quote before you purchase an item. I will attempt to find the cheapest shipping rate possible. Canadian customers will be responsible for any brokerage fees, Custom’s duties, or VAT’s imposed by your government. I am not responsible for these charges. Insurance is required for all international shipments.

Last, but not least, I offer a 10% discount for orders totaling $125.00 or more.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO RETURNS ARE ACCEPTED. I have attempted to bring any noted "imperfections" to your attention prior to your purchasing the item. However, I'm only human. If I have missed something or you have a problem with your purchase, please contact me prior to leaving feedback.

Customer satisfaction is #1 for me. I try to provide outstanding service, high quality merchandise, and secure and expedient shipping.

Feedback is important and I will be happy to leave you feedback once I know everything has arrived safely and that you are pleased with your purchase. Leaving me feedback helps me gauge how well I'm doing and also serves the Bonanza community by directing them to sellers who proffer outstanding merchandise and service.
