This is a lovely shiny gold vermeil or gold plate over a 925 sterling silver Figaro chain necklace made in Italy. Vermeil is 24k gold over 925 sterling silver and does not tarnish. This necklace has a pattern of three small links separated by an elongated link. A piece of 925 gold jewelry costs less than a gold necklace and is a good alternative to get the look of luxury for less. It is stamped on both the clasp sides “Italy” and “925”. There are also the initials “CW”. The necklace measures 30 inches from end to end. It weighs .35 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 9.92 grams. This is probably from the 1970s to early 1980s.

The necklace is in great vintage condition, there are no kinks in the chain, and it is nice and smooth. The necklace is shiny and bright with only minor finish wear on the clasp area as you can see in the enlarged photographs. You don't see it without the magnification. The spring ring clasp is secure and works just fine.

This necklace is absolutely stunning and will make a fabulous addition to your fine vintage jewelry collection. Perfect by itself or layered with other pieces of jewelry. It will be great for showing off that vintage pendant that has been stored in your jewelry box.
