This is a fabulous and glamorous chunky brass vintage necklace. It has that special handmade quality and a unique ethnic beauty. It has a thick brass chain with over 60 dangling brass balls, beads or charms. The brass beads are different shapes and styles and the larger beads are decorated with patterns or fluted/corrugated designs. A few of the beads have the letters DISCO on the side, which helps to date this to the 1970s. The necklace measures approximately 17 inches in length. It fits like a long choker around the neck, but hangs down and gives the look of a bib. Please make sure to measure the length to make sure it will fit around your neck. The largest brass beads hang down 2 inches and the small round ones hang down 1 ½ inches. It has a toggle style clasp or as it is also called a bar and ring clasp where the bar is inserted into the ring to fasten the necklace. The clasp is nice and secure when on the neck. This is a very substantial necklace and weighs 5.8 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 164.43 grams.

This is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The brass has a gorgeous patina to it that only comes with age. I have not polished it because the patina adds so much to the necklace, the brass has taken on various shades of dark to bright brass and highlights that accentuate the details. I have not been able to find another one like it in all my searches, it is quite unique.

This is truly a statement piece and will be noticed whenever you wear it. This would be perfect with that little black dress for an evening out or casual with you favorite pair of jeans. It has that great Retro or Bohemian look that is so popular today. If you are a belly dancer this is a dream necklace for you.
