Do you think this is a custom made piece or what?

Yetta, I found noting like it. I turned to my book that shows the most antique jewelry and nothing there either, just the more common type camphor glass necklaces. I did find a couple of circa 1900 & 1910 lavaliere necklaces that had similar look but not camphor glass. I suppose it could have been a custom piece but that would be pretty hard to determine. It certainly is elaborate and I love the chained frame around the camphor pendant! Beautiful! I would list it as elaborate camphor glass lavaliere. Almost Edwardian looking.

Just please be certain it is real Camphor Glass. I purchased a Brooch online that said it was Camphor and when I received it, it looked like Camphor but when I stuck a red hot pin on the back of it I found it was hard plastic.
Not saying yours isn’t Camphor, just saying they are making some plastic that really looks like it.
