This book is about twin sisters, one is red head. the other is a brunette, marantha might be her name. The red head is planning to run off and marry her beau but her father finds out and interferes. I don’t remember this storyline very much. The other twin marantha, wants to join the church. This angers her father so he sends off to brazil{??} to marry a wealthy man. She is given a very ornate cross, unbeknown to her, the wearer is to produce the family heir. Her husband is paraplegic unable to procreate but the older brother, whose wife is insane(named innocencia), sees the necklace and knows that he is to father the heir.
It was one of those dime store trashy novels but I would love to find out the name then find the book.

Sounds like the 1940’s movie Green Dolphin Street where two sisters love the same man who gets drugged and shipped off somewhere and ends up in New Zealand. He loves one sister but marries the other sister by mistake. The loved sister climbs a mountain to get to a nunnery and joins the convent. The man endures a marriage to the other sister. There is an earthquake and I don’t remember what happens to any of them but at the age of seven or eight, it made quite an impression on me.

Sorry, I don’t know but you might want to ask it on Yahoo’s ask questions section if you don’t find it here. [URL removed]
