Any experienced sellers out there with suggestions about getting feedback left from first time or new Bonanaza customers? About 1 in 10 leave feedback. Is Bonanaza aware of this? More feedback can mean more sales and buyer confidence in Bonanza as a marketplace.

Thats the one thing about Bonanza that I have always found as weird. Buyers rarely leave feedback here, much less send an email. Bonanza tried to do a feedback reminder thingie a couple years ago, that was a bit glitchy. Now I do know there is a setting somewhere that you can turn on that sends a message about a month after purchase for feedback, but folks haven’t had the best luck with that.
One idea I have to build feedback might be to make small purchases here and there from otherBonanza sellers…say like twitter packages for a few bucks or do a little holiday shopping here during events. Bonanza sellers tend to leave each other feedback and that does help your numbers.
And of course, if you have feedback on other selling sites, there is an option to import feedback

Feedback is voluntary.

As Tortuga mentioned, there is a reminder option, but I don’t use it. I know I don’t want to be bugged by sites I have visited.

Many of our buyers are first-timers, as they find us on Google Shopping, etc., so they don’t really ‘belong’ to the site. Your purchase may be the only time they visit, and the majority don’t bother to come back and leave feedback. Sad, but true.

I think the other E site has made people a slave to feedback, but I don’t really know if it’s important. Many sites have no f/b at all, and if I bought something from a site I didn’t work on, I wouldn’t bother either.

As both above said..about the only ones who do leave feedback are those who purchase regularly or are sellers here..on occasion when I have extra interaction (negotiating a sale) then I also get feedback, but for the most part it is not something that most worry about..

Anyway, if you want your buyers reminded to leave feedback, the seeting is

My Bonanza
Account Settings (1st item in left hand column)
Notification preferences tab
Scroll down to
Buying & Selling
check Send an email reminding a buyer to leave feedback about me (sent a month after transaction closes)

However, I too, personally, do like getting email reminders (and I ignore them from both amazon and ebay..I leave FB if I want, but ignore reminders) and it has been that in some cases, the buyer comes back to just leave negative fb because of the reminder…

Others send reminders in packages…

Me, I don’t worry about it. I give the best service I can, and if it happens great, if not, not going to sweat it…

I’m not a fan of the feedback reminder. When it first became available, I had neglected to turn it off. A buyer of mine who received the reminder came back and left feedback. It’s my only negative. It was disappointing because the comments were confusing. Apparently the book arrived in significantly worse condition than it was sent. Post office mishandling? I don’t know. It was 30 days after the sale and the buyer had never contacted me about her disappointment. To this day I still question the integrity of that particular feedback. I believe, and of course I could be wrong, this buyer was annoyed by the reminder and this was the best way she could let me know of her annoyance. I did receive 2 feedbacks in July but prior to then, my last FB was in December.

Regarding importing feedback. I did import my feedback when I first joined Bonanza. However, once I reach 10 Bonanza feedbacks, I dropped my imported feedback.

Best of luck.

Just my opinion but I’ve found when I go above and beyond the call of duty c/s wise I get the feedback. I personally think that ebay has so tainted and polluted the feedback waters over the years that leaving feedback for many is just a turn off since it can be bias and easily manipulated. I’d rather see an easy to use frequent buyer program where repeat buyers get some kind of reward for returning to repeat buy from me. Just haven’t figured out a way to easily keep track of purchases. Something that denoted “this buyer has just made their 10th purchase from you” hell I’ll send them something nice with that 10th purchase. It’s only stuff folks – I love loyalty

The best feedback on Bonanza is from other bonanza members. I think we gained a lot of little relationships when we used to hold our Wed. night auctions. I miss those. When we did that we got to know each other by using the chat. We always left each other feedback after a purchase. It seems rare that a 1 time buyer on bonanza leaves any feedback. My question is do they ever come back, or was that just a one time fly by night purchase? I want them to come back!

I am not a big fan of “forcing” or asking for feedback. I know some people on other sites (not ebay) that have purposely left neutral and negative for customers that bought from THEM because they would not leave fb…to me that is just crazy! They were nice enough to spend their money on your items, why in the world would you leave them bad feedback?? If i walk into target, or wherever, i don’t want to have to fill out a “how did we do” card. And i agree with Crackersplace, I miss the auctions we had here also. We had so much fun, and everyone knew each other, and some of the best feedback i have ever received was from the auctions, and we all made a few small sales…. All I can say, is give the best customer service you can, if they don’t leave feedback just know you did your best and move on to the next one. If they do…well, what a nice surprise….
