Are rollerblades a thing of the past? do they require special servicing?

Now with spring and summer season knocking at my door, I don’t see as many rollerblading skaters as there were few years ago.
1. Is the individual leisure sport phasing out?
2. What are the most important factors to look for when buying a pair of Mens preowned (used) rollerblade skates?
3. Should they be purchase to fit true foot size or the next larger size?
4. Do thick socks play an important role for padding or comfort?
5. Do they require daily maintenance or adjustment, etc?

I have seen quite alot of deal$ for used rollerblades and I do plan to do alot of outdoor leisure sports these next couple of months and would like to learn more about this topic.

Hi Montrose,

Have you ever seen some people roller blading? I think Darwin’s law came into effect—they all died off! No, LOL….I really don’t know—I was a mess on a skateboard so that was something I never tried.
