Checkout by amazon?

I received an email from Bonanza encouraging me to turn on Checkout by amazon. Thing is, I’m already opted in to take Amazon payments. Is this something NEW??? Or do I just ignore it since I already take Amazon payments?

Bonanza’s getting a bump in web traffic today as thousands of sellers double check their settings. I know I did.

General mailings should still be vetted for sending to the right people. If I understand correctly, I can’t sign up because I’m in Canada. Why not just send it to US based sellers?

That would have been a better way of doing it. Amazon just don’t want anything to do with us Aussies for some unknown reason.

The overwhelming majority of my sales come through CBA and not Paypal.

@massive_surplus – CBA does not have shipping, but you can purchase shipping through [URL removed] www.paypal.com/shipnow Or you can easily open an account at USPS.com for shipping. However, USPS.com shipping is limited to Priority mail and Priority Express. One more thing…I find the regional rate priority mail boxes to be a significant savings over priority mail especially if the package is going cross country and over 2 pounds. Regional rate priority mail is not available on Paypal, unless it’s an ebay sale. So for Bonanza sales which would benefit from regional rates, I use USPS.com.

@Bookbin – I agree. I also wish they would have vetted the list and removed those of us who already use CBA.

Sorry, one more thing about CBA. Remember to go back to CBA and enter the tracking number. I also found I had an inordinate number of CBA sales in advance of Christmas as I believe Amazon was offering an additional incentive to use their card.

In the interest of complete disclosure, when you first open a CBA account, there is a hold on some of the funds. When a sale comes through, you get the quoted shipping cost plus I think 10% of the merchandise cost, right away (next morning). The balance is held for up to 3 weeks. And the funds are deposited directly in your linked checking account. Beyond Amazon’s hold, there is no opportunity to keep money in CBA, like there is with Paypal. I could be wrong on the percentage and the number of days, so someone please correct me. Once they’re convinced that you’re not a loser, the funds are released almost immediately, next morning.

Sorry to be so long-winded.

Thanks for that information AbbysAttic I’ve been signed up with CBA but could find no real information about how the whole deal works so I really really appreciate your information.![URL removed]

I signed up this morning, sounded like a good idea. Do most buyers buy using Paypal, Checkout by amazon or other I wonder??

It’s about 50/50 with us between Paypal and Amazon. Definitely worth having it.
