Hemming pants without a sewing machine.

I’m wondering if anyone has some tips as to how I could hem my own pants at home without using a sewing machine.

One pair that I recently purchased are Yoga style sport pants and I certainly don’t feel comfortable sewing them because of the material.

That iron on tape is called Stitch Witchery. It is great for putting seams in items without having to sew. You can get it at any fabric store. Just be careful if using it, you have to iron it on as some fabrics will melt or scorch. If it is a lighter fabric you could also try fabric glue like Liquid Thread. It won’t hold if the fabric is too heavy. Also not good for really delicate fabrics as it will bleed through.

There is an iron on tape I believe you can use to finish a hem. But that might not work for your Yoga pants. Are they safe to iron or would the heat melt them?

There is an iron on double stick tape specifically for fabrics that I have used and works great. You can find it in the fabric section at Walmart.

One of my friends would never hem her pants — always used the iron-on tape and it worked great.

Thank everyone !

You saved me from sewing ! Not my talent ! lol

For anyone interested in the iron on tape, I found a lady on Bonanzle who sells it and she told me that she had many more colors to list ..

Iron on tape will not work for heavy jeans. They do need to be sewn by machine.
