Does anyone know how to set “Newest” as default, so that customers can see the “Newest” items first, rather than “Highest price” items?

If you have a membership you can change the view. Otherwise each buyer has their own view and it can change depending on how they search. The default view is highest first.

Unfortunately one must pay for membership to be able to rearrange the items. :-(
