I have items that currently have had no actual views, but plenty of bot views which are listed higher in my sales feed than items that have more actual views. Only after I tweet an item does it seem to trigger something that pushes it further down my page where it probably belongs. It seems to stay in place otherwise, despite other items having more actual views.
Does anyone know how an item’s popularity is determined or maintained?

The popularity is useless. It has never worked properly, as far as I can see. I used to check views on my ‘most popular’ items and they weren’t even near the top if even on page 1.
Right now, only ONE of the first 10 items shown in my booth are in the top 10 list of viewed items in the past 60 days.
I wish the automatic sort would default to newest, so at least people didn’t have to look at the same old, irrelevant stuff. It may encourage new listings, but would surely give return visitors a new look each time.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
