Shipping choices

Hi all..still kinda new on here. I have just uploaded some new listings that are heavy and need to offer USPS parcel…cannot seem to do this. All I keep getting is the priority or free/flat fee tabs. I go to use my shipping profile..and nothing. I have seen where you can do this on a btch edit(??) I cannot batch edit…as all my items are different. By the way, can you select items to batch edit or is it by the screen. Not as easy as other places…sigh. Any help would be appreciated!

I’m sorry. I wish I could help but I’ve just been doing flat rates for my listings and offering a combined shipping discount when more than one listing is purchased.

Long ago (in a galaxy far far away) Bonz used to offer Parcel option from USPS but no more. While there is minimal difference in costs for smaller lighter weight packages under 1 cubic ft between Parcel and Priority, if you get over 4 or 5 lbs, there is quite the increase in cost for Priority and that will make or break a sale if shipping is high. I have been asking (for years) that Bonz re-instate USPS Parcel Post (ow whatever they call it now) as an additional option but it falls on deaf ears. I only ship US and dont even get into international shipping because of the obscene costs even if the package is smaller or lightweight.

Hi Poindog,

If you go to Batch edit, then to shipping you can set calculated shipping with a US provider of your choice, I’m not sure if it includes Parcel Post (that may have been eliminated) but you can find the shipper and calculated shipping that best suits your needs (look for dropdown menu) for various shippers. To answer your 2nd question, yes you can select individual products to do the above shipping changes for. Look for the Green APPLY CHANGES Button (After checking your products) and it will list the total number which will change. It actually is pretty easy. Hope this helps.

Thank you!

USPS no longer offers parcel post in it’s web tools..that is why it is not offered on bonz..and it is called USPS Retail Ground® now
Parcel post through USPS is not available when in certain shipping zones (ie those closest to sender) and therefore prior calc shipping cannot be done until a zip code is entered.

The best thing to do is to determine what the retail ground costs would be for the weight of your items using a zip code that is at least half way across US or all the way (depending on your location) and using that as a flat rate, and then use the shipping options offered through PayPal when the purchase is made..

Batch Edit

To select items to batch..use the filters above the lists (either by categories, keywords, etc. and Select the items you wish to change…click on small box next to items or one at top to select whole page)…..

Well, I did state "USPS Parcel Post (ow whatever they call it now) ". To me, they can change the name but will always be Parcel Post if not Priority. I sense the feeling he is talking about LARGE Heavy packages where Priority is Expen$ive if not shipped to his local zone. Hard 2 Estimate Flat$t r

Yes I am…I have 10+ lbs packages…and man, it really is a problem! I understand completely about shipping…just not how Bonanza has it figured. But as someone else mentioned, I may have to re-think for them. It makes a HUGE difference in cost…as you all know. UGH!

I always get frustrated with the name change for “parcel post”…and how sites present the name of it also. It’s almost like it can be named 5 different things because of the name changes it’s had. When doing a flat rate, Bonanza has it listed as Parcel Post, eBay has got it listed as…

Parcel Select Ground, which I think is more right than Bonanza has it worded from talking with USPS in the past

Looks like at one point it was also called Standard Post…okay, we are getting close to 5 different names now. lol.

well…if USPS does not offer the option in it’s web tools, not really much they can do about it….unless they go with some shipping service. I used the USPS web tools on my web site and it is the same issue..

[URL removed] coast to west [URL removed] Retail..USPS 15 lbs Priority $50.80; Parcel $47.79: at PayPal Priority $47.57, Parcel $47.56..so if you are going for more like 25-50 lbs..there is not much difference (and UPS might be better option)

I kind of remember when it was called THIRD CLASS Mail. I believe that sometimes the PO pawns their packages off on other carriers (FedEx UPS) to deliver it if Parcel rate mail and thats why they PUSH for PRIORITY all the time.

Thank you for all the input!!
