Shipping problem

I have been on Bonanza for 4 years used to sell a lot but things slowed down to nothing.

I did get a sale today and found the calculated shipping had changed and I will have to make up the difference that was charged and what I will have to pay.

I checked my other items and found the calculator is only media or Priority mail unless you use UPS.

Priority mail is very expensive, how can you list Postal Select?

It used to be where you could choose any kind of shipping but now it seems we are limited.

I also like to send some things in a Fixed Price Padded envelope to same cost for the buyer.

Do we now have to put a fixed price on our items?

I have three booths so I will have a lot of work to do.

There is an option for USPS Standard Post, which is the old Parcel post (I just checked and it is in the listing form). You should always offer post parcel and priority, because some packages are actually cheaper with priority, if the buyer is close and the post office is no longer offer parcel for lighter weight packages in certain zones. You would have to put a set price for the padded envelope, you can do that in update item as a group and do multiple items at one time. You can’t print those labels in Paypal, so you would have to use the post office site, or another stamp site.

When you make a listing you are given an option to check the boxes for shipping that you would like the buyer to select from…

Before the Sept 7 update, the selection was automatically priority, unless under 13 oz…however, you now have to actually select the options.

Go into the listings and check priority options (parcel select or standard will not show for anyone who is closer than zone 5…as this option no longer exists at the PO)

Unfortunately with the Post Office API update, bonanza now, just automatically selects first one the list if you did not check the options yourself.

You will have to go into your listings and fix this…

We really do need to have the forums back, so folks can come and see the Post Office, google, search engine and other updates and stay on top of changes

For those who are wondering where the standard/parcel shipping option is not there anymore
Please note USPS does not offer parcel/standard/select (or whatever, different sites call it, since they are usually high volume special postage rates (ie which is why they are on ebay)) for packages in Zones 1-4 from your location. Even though you will see these options in PP, etc, check the prices since priority is actually cheaper in these zones for (I know for sure) 5 (this is as high as I checked) pound packages or less.

Because of this the API web tools for USPS do not have that option in calculated shipping any more.

Packages going to zones 5-9 and are heavier can use the standard option, but it cannot be offered until the mailing information (zipcode) has been added.

This change was made in Jan 2013.

When I make a listing using shipping in the US and calculated shipping; all the options I have are for Media Mail or Priority. I am not seeing Standard Post at all.

Is there some option you have to select outside of the editing of a listing to get this to be turned on?

My problem is when I go to USPs it just gives me Priority or Media.
Most of my items have been on for 4 years. I have not added new items lately.

Maybe when putting on new items it shows more ways to ship. I agree one should give selection of Priority or select I do not like to overcharge on shipping.

I just had to go in and correct all my items for shipping, fortunately a lot were UPS and they were OK. I had to pick priority on all the rest unless I had put a flat rate on.

I have two more booths to correct, guess I will be busy.

I also miss the old forms I was able to keep up with what was going on as I check in every day.

Standard and FC are both at the USPS site, you just have to open the “other options” but you cannot purchase them online through USPS
