The name of this flower?

Hello.

I have a piece of jewelry that is a flower. I’m wondering if someone can tell me what the name of the flower might be?

I appreciate the help.

I would guess that it is a variety of an Oncidium Orchid

Thank you, Mark. I never knew there was a special name for an orchid.

Thanks Misskeech. Now it is in figuring out the price. The brooch is not marked by a maker, so hard to tell what to price it at.

My immediate thought was, “orchid”!

It’s an orchid, for sure, and it appears to be an oncidium orchid.

Thank you, Cshort. Same as I said above. I never knew that there was a special name for an orchid. So there is more than one kind of orchid…

There are literally thousands of kinds of orchids! They grow everywhere in the world except in in the Arctic Circle and Antarctica. I’ve been growing them for years.

Wow. I’m surprised you an Mark were able to say what type of orchid with that many to choose from.

@EmpressDepot… Mark used to be in the flower shipping business prior to helping form Bonanzle (Bonanza).
