Tired of ebay. new here. should i do free shipping?

I tossed all my shipping boxes but some I have from the USPS I got for free. Should I do free shipping? Im used to charging shipping on ebay and printing my labels and just going from there. In between jobs right now, so just wondering how the shipping works. I cant afford to pay for every item to ship. Just making sure I have it all down pat before I make a sale and it turns out to be a mess. Hope that is clear enough. I really hope this is a better experience than Ebay.

Free shipping on (you will have to change your prices to cover shipping costs, which will show as a higher price in google product search when doing price comparisons..a draw back)

You can charge a flat rate for shipping…I do this for all booths..just easier for me

Do calc shipping, you will need to enter weights/size for all listings (be aware that you will have to choose the shipping options or the system will default to lowest one which is media mail)

Print labels here, but you will have to establish a shipping fund (credit card) as bonz does not have access to the money placed in PayPal for purchases

Print labels at paypal itself..log into PP, find invoice, click on Print shipping label finish the process there. Then return here and put in the tracking information on the invoices. (This is what I do, since this was the only option sellers had when Bonz was first set up and that way the shipping costs comes from the money at paypal)

I agree about this [URL removed] “Free shipping on (you will have to change your prices to cover shipping costs, which will show as a higher price in google product search when doing price comparisons”

I’d stick with not doing free shipping.

One of my main reasons is that if I am wanting to make more than one purchase and I see that shipping is built into the price, then I know I am still paying more for the items overall. I try to be a smart shopper, so I avoid this.

But, of course, some sellers really do throw in free shipping, so definitely on them I do not hesitate to buy more than one. As a seller though, I cannot do this but I do like to let the buyer, for multiple purchases, purchase one item at the highest shipping amount stated and each listing after that ships free. This works well for me and what I tend to like to carry in my booth.

Welcome to Bonanza!

IF you plan to use the boxes you got for FREE from the USPS, those would be Priority boxes which unless they are flat rate, go weight and distance shipping. Difficult to PRE-Determine weight and distance shipping costs for FREE shipping as you never know where your buyer will be coming from (which can get Expen$ive) and eat dearly into your profits. Like Empress mentioned, if you change your item costs to reflect the “FREE” shipping, it will put you in a disadvantage on Goog product search if buyer is sorting by cost so you may never be seen if dont show up on the first page as many dont look beyond the first page.

Charge a Reasonable and Fair price for shipping, use calculated shipping if items go over a pound and NEVER use FLAT RATE Priority Boxes unless the item is VERY VERY Heavy as they cost the most to ship. Also remember to order from the USPS some REGIONAL ‘A’ & ‘B’ Priority (free) boxes from the PO as those can be money savers for smaller HEAVY items over the cost of the FLAT RATE Priority boxes cost to ship. Best of Luck and Happy Sales to You.
