Top rated seller status lost ??

I honestly give up with getting correct answers here on bonanza. About 2 months ago I contacted support regarding why I didn’t qualify for this Top Rated Seller status… All my shipments come with tracking numbers. The only issue I seen was that my items are customized items and buyers need to provide details in message box when they purchase. I have customers who do not leave these details and end up not responding to emails or messages to obtain missing information so about 4-5 days after no response I have no choice but to cancel and refund these customers.
I was told by support once an order is canceled that won’t count against me…. So here comes December all of a sudden I now qualify for Top Rated Seller…. Then new years I had customers who ordered then send messages minutes after to cancel their orders which I did.
Well guess what ??? Yep you got it now my top rated seller is gone

I really give up I have tried to give great customer service to my customers here as I do on my very successful Ebay store. Obviously bonanza DOES hold canceled orders against you. Can’t help it if flaky people get on this platform and purchase from my store then minutes later change their minds!

Unbelievable

that is the reason why I dislike that they started that ebay stuff here..it was never necessary to add that top rated stuff…

we did fine for 7 years without it…

I only asked about it when I seen other sellers one who had a much lower feedback rating than me and. Questioned why they had it and I didn’t. They give it to me and it’s gone because I canceled orders at customers request . Don’t understand this platform at all

I’m pretty sure ebay would do the same thing. when something is cancelled, no matter at whose request, it is not a sale so it should not count. Personally, I like the top rated seller status. There are too many on here that have abandoned their booths, so this helps to see who is active

Here is what I found in Bonanza Help concerning the Top Rated Seller [URL removed]

Top Rated Sellers are recognized as sellers who consistently earn high ratings from buyers thanks to fast shipping and excellent service. To be considered a Top Rated Seller on Bonanza, you must meet certain requirements and performance standards. Top Rated Seller status will be reviewed on a daily basis. Sellers who meet the criteria will have a gold badge visible on their banner, as well as on their booth homepage and item listing pages, helping sellers to achieve more sales by instilling confidence in buyers. You can read more about how to achieve Top Rated Seller status [URL removed]

Top Rated Seller Requirements*

Maintain a minimum of 98% positive feedback
Active member on Bonanza for at least 90 days
25+ transactions with US buyers within 1 year
A minimum of $250 in annual sales
Refund rate lower than 20%
Compliant with all Bonanza policies
Tracking numbers uploaded for at least 90% of your transactions**

*Any eBay sellers with Top Rated Sellers status also meet the criteria for Top Rated Seller status on Bonanza and will have their status imported along with their eBay feedback.

**Refunded/canceled transactions excluded from this rule.

As you can see, you have to have a refund rate of less than 20% if you only sell on Bonanza. But, if you sell on eBay, also, you are excluded from this rule. I don’t sell on eBay and do meet every criteria except for 2. Those are 25+ transactions in a year and the minimum of $250 in sales. Therefore, even though I give excellent customer service, I will never be a Top Rated Seller. That’s a bummer, because the gold badge does catch you eye when searching for something. But, on the upside, I know I am a Top Rated Seller when I am lucky enough to sell something here.

Thanks I have already seen this…. I comply with all of these. January 1 I had top rated seller I canceled and refunded 3 orders and now I do not.

misskeech says: January 10, 2017

So, if that is the case, then if i really wanted the TRS badge, all i would have to do is get some friends to purchase some of my items, then turn around and cancel the order and refund them. Do I deserve the badge, I dont think so.

Loved your comment misskeech. Maybe I’ll try your suggestion. I don’t care for the top rated seller because bk collectors are few & far in between so of course I have never met all the requirements nor do I try but figure I must be a good bk dealer since I’ve been in the business since 1972.

sasswbe please clarify. Thank you.

“Tracking numbers uploaded for at least 90% of your transactions**

**Refunded/canceled transactions excluded from this rule."

The above statement may be true as far as not having to upload tracking numbers. However, a seller canceling a sale still counts as a “bad” experience for the buyer. This is true even if the seller cancels the sale (or refunds the buyer) because they are not hearing back from the buyer regarding customization, as is the case with the seller “girlygirl14”. Whether it is eBay or Bonanza, neither platform knows WHY the sale was canceled. They view the cancelation as a result producing an unhappy buyer. In that respect, they don’t consider you a TRS. If the BUYER requests the cancelation of a sale, then it should not (and I don’t think it is) be held against you.

I understand girlygir14l’s dilemma about the inability to get the information needed from the buyer. If it was me, I would wait until the buyers eventually contact me about the undelivered item. As long as you have emailed them (Bonanza messages go to the buyer’s “real” email address too), then the buyer should understand the reason for any delay. If the buyer no longer wants the item, then you can cancel at that time.

I would not mind holding onto the orders longer however past experiense has showed me the longer I wait it really doesn’t help. My items are time sensative items for birthdays so much likely by the time they respond up to weeks later the birthday has already come and gone .

tomwayne1 says: January 10, 2017

I noticed that not all of your items contain “Personalized” in the title. Consider adding that to every item’s title and make the text BIGGER in the description.

tomwayne1 says: January 10, 2017

Aslo, consider adding the “Style” trait to your listing and enter your own trait information. You could add “Personalized” and “Unpersonalized” to the style trait and perhaps that will remind buyer to add info during checkout.

Do 25 transactions mean 25 different customers or does it mean, for example, I have 5 customers who purchase 25 listings between them all?

Thanks,

Sharon

My understanding if it was 25 different transactions then it would count as 25 sales. If you have 1 person purchase 4 items in their cart at one time then that is 1 transaction.

PlayfulPetPalz says: January 10, 2017

Yes, it would make more sense to have 25 different customers as opposed to 25 listings to the same person. Thank you.

Wasn’t there an seller approval function that the seller could require before a sale went through? I remember having to do that on one of my laptops a year ago, but I don’t see it now. If the sale weren’t finalized until you approved it, you could make sure you get the customization info first, otherwise the sale wouldn’t go through and, I would think, wouldn’t count against you. But I can’t find that function at the moment.
