What is this brooch a symbol of?

Is this Sword thing on this Brooch a Masonic or Shriners symbol and if so why is a Bow at the top?

As soon as I saw it, I thought Eastern Star… Don’t know if the bow is any more than a “place holder” for the pin.

I looked on Google and emailed one of the Grand Poobah’s, or what ever they call them, of the Masonic Lodge. Here is what he told me.

“This is definitely Shrine ladies pin. The emblem at the bottom represents the Shrine, which is a Masonic related organization. Often, even though not members, ladies are part of many Masonic and Shrine activities, and numerous of the Masonic organizations have “ladies pins,” for wives or other family members. I’m not sure how you received the pin, but if it was from a family member, there must have been a Shrine membership somewhere.

It looks like a very beautiful pin.

I hope this has answers your questions."
