Why not many sales in several years

I sell on Ebay and also on Bonanza, which I have my items imported and updated each day. I truly want to eliminate Ebay altogether but have little to no sales on Bonanza. I have a very hard time understanding how to get my items viewed and even when I do Google searches in general I rarely see anything come up on Bonanza. Could someone give me some input. If I can be a Power Seller on Ebay I am sure I could do the same on Bonanza if I could just get the views. Thank you in advance.

I used to do well on Bonanza, selling 4-6 items a week. Yes I considered that good. But the last couple of years have not been as lucrative for me. Decided to give eBay a try and I’m averaging 100 items a month and 4-6 a month here. I can’t explain the decline I’ve encountered here, but I can explain the difference between eBay and Bonanza. It’s one word, advertising. When you talk to any of your friend or relatives about on-line shopping, what’s the first thing they think of? Probably eBay. It’s a household name. Bonanza is not. We need to advertise for ourselves.

Many have taken to twitter for that. I tweet my bonanza booth (and items) daily. I do not tweet my eBay items. But, I have observed that when I tweet an item, it has a greater chance of selling on eBay than here.

Another option is to enroll/participate in Bonanza’s advertising option. You can select from different levels of participation, 6%, 9%, 13% or 16%. And you can select from Google shopping, Bing, the Find, PriceGrabber, etc. Just go to “sell on Bonanza” at the top of any page and then click the advertise tab. Some of the options require a certain level of membership, so you have to decide what’s best for you and your business. A couple of other things to remember. You are only charged the higher commission if the buyer arrived at your listing from one of the advertising venues you selected AND purchased. And you only pay that commission on the item price (and the excess shipping cost above $10), so if you’re charging less than $10 to ship, the commission is only charged on the item price.

Best of luck.

I signed p for the option of adevertising. Unfortinately, I don’t see a difference in my trafic and certainly in my sales. When I myself look for items on google, my ebay items come up but similar items from Bonanza booth with lower price then ebay is not coming up at all.

So, I am not sre choosing to pay bigger fees to Bonanza and allowing them to advertise for me is helping… Just a thought. I don’t know if anyone else enrolled in it and see the improvement in sales. I don’t but would be willing to give more time if I hear that it helped others

How do you tweet your bonanza booth?

With all Capitals in your Titles Google will ignore those, its a No No, one of Google’s rules. As Abby said Ebay is the go to place next to Amazon so you have to advertise here your self, which is a lot more work because Ebay and Amazon all ready have the traffic and the Name.

To be very honest, I do not enjoy promoting my own items, which is a requirement here. On other sites, which will remain nameless, I do not have to promote at all, but do very well. I would not be a good used car salesman!

I’ve been here for over five years and as you point out the sales difference between here and EBay is gargantuan. I love the Bonanza community, but sales here are dismally slow and take ten times the work. This could be an incredible sales venue, because the platform and the community are great, save for one [URL removed] Bonanza won’t advertise. I think it’s a big mistake myself. If they did, I think they’d blow Ebay out of the water.

Kudos on the excellent answers above – yes, you must work much harder for sales here, I am paying the extra venues for advertising at the 6% cost and I use twitter to promote myself and retweet the others here who retweet my items. I love this site, the Bonz Guys are super helpful when I have a problem – but I could not survive by selling here alone.

I sell on both Bonanza and ebay. And honestly ebay isnt much better. I get hardly any sales on ebay and you pay four different fees there too. They charge a fee on listing, final value, on shipping and paypal so there is no money to be made even when you do sell there. I dont sell much on here but i do like the fact that we have contol over our own stores here. Ebay controls everything you do there and its just way to stressful not to mention the customers are kind of crappy since you cant leave them any negative feedback and ebay tends to side with them even when they are clearly ripping sellers off by lying.Bonanza does need to advertise way more. I still have high hopes for this place :)

I sell on both venues. Ebay fees you can figure in at 20% once you add Paypal. This booth, I sell a few things on weekends, the other Bonanza booth hardly anything. since some of the stuff has been up several years, I am planning on taking a bunch of things down from that one & try some other things for a while. That’s probably what I like about here, is you can list free, and leave it as long as you think you should.

Bonanza should put some money into making a television commercial that would definetly get bonanza some serious traffic boost, yes its worth it but at least a large chunk of the population will recognize Bonanza exists and is an option to shop

I have opened my shop several months ago and have not had a single sale. I sell on Etsy and E-bay, with good results. Thinking about quitting Bonanza, even though I like this community.

I think we should give bonanza 1.00 each to get a television commercial trust me it will help us and blow ebay away.
