Hello Bonanza Community,
I have a prospective buyer who wanted me to lower a price on an item yesterday. Then they decided not to purchase.
Today, they contact me again asking if I will again lower the price, and that they got an email telling them they have a limited time “Bonanza Employee Discount” for 16% off.
I don’t think this person has a Bonanza shop. Additionally, I have been on Bonanza for over 3 years, and I did not get this email.
Is this person “trying to scam me”?
Input welcome. Thanks,
Cheryl of Snowberry Lane Treasures

The buyer’s email message is referring to a program (that Bonanza calls an “Employee Discount”) where Bonanza offers them a discount to purchase items from Bonanza sellers who opted into the program. By opting in, sellers give Bonanza permission to discount certain item prices to help generate increased business on Bonanza.
However, YOU don’t lose any money since Bonanza will reduce (or waive, if necessary) their selling fees to you. You end up with the same after-sales amount, the buyer gets a deal, and Bonanza increases their customer base.
You are not obligated to further discount the item. If the buyer purchases your item (if you opted into Bonanza’s program), that 16% discount is between Bonanza and the buyer.

It’s possible that they received an email from Bonanza thru their Promotions Program, see link for more details.

But that should be an automatic discount when purchased, and not a request for discount.
You should forward the email to support@bonanza.com for review and clarification for you and potential buyer.

They may be. I did not receive anything like that email either, but either way, they are asking for a double discount since you already lowered the price of the item once.
I am wondering if they purchased from someone else on here, and received a “coupon” from the other seller for 16% if they purchased from their booth again, but they may think its for anyone on bonanza? That is the only thing i can think of unless someone else can think of something else.
I would send the message to support@Bonanza.com for them to look at.
