Hi!
You will need two pieces of equipment to do what you want. The first is a stand alone negative/slide scanner or at least a flatbed scanner with accessories for film/slide scanning. The stand alone scanner is the better choice because it is capable of scanning at a much higher resolution and that is what you need for good slide scans. These will be large files so you will need lots of storage space on your hard drive.
Secondly, you will need a good DVD burner and the software that comes with it. There are countless software programs that will allow you to create a slide show on a DVD. A lot of these programs are free.

My daughter scans them, making them into pictures then burns them to a disk. She has even done it with old film negatives. She’s a Photoshop wiz.

I agree with DS520. I bought one at Walmart – it was great for turning slides and 35 mm negatives into images, on the computer. It also comes with a photo editing program of it own. Then you can make your DVD.

I recently scanned and converted over 300 slides onto my computer for future burning onto a DVD. Be prepared – it is time consuming, however well worth the effort. If I had to do it over, I would look for a scanner that had options for fine tuning the lighting that is used to view the slide. Mine only had one setting. The pictures came out fine, and I can use software to tweek them. Again, a true labor of love. Of course, any advanced features like that will drive the price up. My family really appreciated them.

Depending on the number of slides involved. Are you still taking slides with a 35mm camera? Or are you just wanting to convert a few older slides?
If just some older slides, try Walgreen Drugstore. $.39 apiece and put on DVD. They even adjust for best overall picture, lighting, etc.

I took about 100 slides to walmart cost was about $15.00 and were done within a day I had a 35mm scanner which did ok ,but was time consuming 5 days with about 150 I sold it online after I finshed with it. I found it easier just to get walmart to do it.
