When you as a parent or guardian feel the child is ready. I was 5 when I got my 1st bicycle. Oh how I remember running into the apple tree!!! lol

That’s a hard one. I think it would be based on the individual. My grandson could ride a full-size bike at 3! But I didn’t learn till I was about 6.

It depends on the child some learn faster than others. There isn’t a specific age.
@CookieGrandma60 I didn’t learn till I was 12 heck I still barely know! Never had a bike of my own :(

It depends on the agility of the child. My nephew is very athletic. He learned to ride a bike without training wheels when he was three. I however, learned when I was 8. I used those training wheels for a long time.

I was 5 when I got a small bike with training wheels.
Then at 8 I took the back wheels off.
About 10 had my first full-size bike.
Life was simpler then.

At 7 I got a full size bike. Learned to ride it without training wheels. Fell off, hit a tree, wobbled a bit and then took off just fine.

I basically never learned to safely ride a bike w/o training wheels. I tried twice, and both times I hit cars (one moving, one parked) and fell off. Fortunately never was hurt seriously!
