What is a projected view

Usually I have just seen for example 20 views when checking my item views however today it says projected views instead? Does anyone know what this means as I am at a loss

someone really needs to answer this, my projected views are going down for today, it was 15, then 14, now 13 what is this??

This has really been an issue for me too! The “projected views” seem to add on 10-16 ficticious, anticipated views, as the #‘s don’t match the actual views, and then I lose 30-50 total views overnight! The next morning, it is a crap shoot to know what is real, and what is anticipated.

Since I base and track my social media pushes based on views, it is now impossible for me to see what is working on which venue. Can someone from Bonanza weigh in on this?

This is an official Bonanza response.

Hi WitchEmily,
The “Projected” stats are a recent change. Rather than show the actual views for the current day on the chart, which may not be a good indicator of your day, we estimate the views you will receive by the day’s end.

We take into account your current views for the day and how much time is left in the day, and extrapolate the number based on that.

Can one go back to actual data, vs the projections? The first day, and all day – my projections were +10 to my views. The second day, all day +16. Today, my projections are +36 over my actual views. It has not fluctuated with the time of day. In addition, I have lost 39 “total views” last night.

My Total Views have also fluctuated – going up and down. Why would that be? When I do a social media push, I can see the results on my total views almost immediately, vs. bot hits. Now, it is hard to trust the data, especially when I lose ttl views overnite, and the # fluctuates.

This makes it hard to know which products are appealing to which social media markets. I would rather have real numbers anyday. If I see my views are down, I may do a media push, vs laundry! :) And the goal is to make sales, where decisions are made on real data. Can I opt out of the projections?

guess it’s new..perhaps there will be a blog to explain changes

they really should just keep it simple, there is no reason for a change like that, I just want to be able to see how many views I’m actually getting, keep it simple

We are not a restaurant with employees and have to mange hours and project sales on a mothers day. Project how many employees you would need. It’s so inaccurate. If you list 300 items in 1 day we project that you’ll receive 118 views. Do you know you get those views. We don’t know until the end of the day. But, But, what I think it is is how much they can spend in adds. Bonanza I believe has to pay for that. They do have a more detailed charts with actual views and what sells the most. Could be worth it. See what is popular out there. Live well.
