Une Poignce de Main en Passant au Geant Hugo
(A Handshake Passing by Giant Hugo)
Early 1900s antique French postcard showing Baptiste Hugo (1876 - 1916), a sideshow circus performer who suffered from gigantism and stood more than 7.5 feet tall. He toured in France and later was a performer for Barnum and Bailey's circus. The card shows him reaching to shake hands with riders on the second deck of a streetcar. This postcard appears to be from the early 1900s or 1910s. Lithograph (from photo). Divided back. Postally unused.
