The Silver Philharmonic is appreciated for its unique design. The obverse face features the Great Organ of the Golden Hall in the well-known Musikverein, Vienna's music hall. The words "REPUBLIK OSTERREICH" and "1 UNZE FEINSILBER" are written above and below the organ and translate to "Republic of Austria" and "1-ounce fine silver." The year of issue as well as the monetary denomination are displayed.
The reverse face also depicted a unique design, featuring a multitude of musical instruments you would commonly find in an orchestra, including a cello, violin, Vienna horn, bassoon, and harp. The words "WIENER PHILHARMONIKER" border the top of the coin, which is the native German name for the Vienna Philharmonic.
Why silver is a much better option than keeping your money in the bank? Imagine you had $ 1,000.00 in the bank 1 or 2 years ago? how much gas could you buy? And how much gas would you GET for the same $ 1,000.00 today? That is inflation working against you. Silver keeps its value (and usually increases with time) more in pace with the economy not only in our country but around the world.
