Unable to find anything like it out on past auctions or internet searches. This is a 2nd Place award in lucite of a medal that would have been given out as part of a team event sponsored by the USMC Reserves for women. Assumption is that the event was for a shooting accuracy event. Very odd that the award is in lucite however it looks as new as the day it was made.
A footnote is that the medal was made by a very well known company - Blackinton Co silversmiths in Meridien CT.
The lucite block in which the medal resides is just under 5.5 inches long, just under 2.5 inches wide and .75 inches thick.
Lucite is clear with no yellowing. Fantastic and likely extremely rare item - for either a military collector or a silver collector.
