But, bear in mind that I'm not offering this to the bibliophile but to anyone with an interest in adding a little history to their religion library. This antique item would be a great gift for a pastor of almost any denomination. I deem it a "curiosity", and so it is.The book was published in 1828 and apparently had several owners whose signatures appear in 19th century script in the inside, one dated 1853, the other signature dated 1885. The binding on the book is tight;there's foxing throughout but each page is very readable; in fact, this foxing adds to its appeal. Engraved frontis (foxed) and it has 4 fold out engraved maps of the Holy Land (still in original folds) which can be removed and framed. This copy is the 13th edition; The front leather is worn as is the gilt on the spine. It's a reading copy or for rebind. The interior is clean despite the aging stains. Overall, I'd characterize this as good for a book this old. No Jacket. We offer prints made in the “ traditional” way such as serigraphs, stone lithos etc. because they are limited as opposed to reproductions like digital art such as giclees.
