Dancy Semi-Dwarf Tangerine Tree
• Winter-ripening fruit with some seeds.
• Easy to peel and rich in flavor.
• Reddish-Orange peel and deep orange flesh.
• The best-known tangerine, "Dancy" has fine foliage and upright habit.
• Popular for Chinese New Year.
• Also known as Dancy Mandarin
• Tends to bear more heavily in alternate years.
• While the parentage is unknown, the Dancy Tangarine is thought to be the result of crossing two mandarins each with some amount of Pomelo in their DNA.
• This Mandarin originated from the town of Tangier in Morocco where it got the name Tangerine which means: native of Tangier.
• Grafted onto semi-dwarf rootstock
Growing Conditions: Full Sun- Provide 8 or more hours of direct sunlight per day. 10’-15’ MATURE TREE- Dancy Semi-Dwarf Tangerine trees can grow up to 10’-15’ when planted in the ground, but are easily kept smaller if grown in a container or with judicious pruning. SELF-FERTILE, Winter Season when fruit typically ripens in California, Hardy to 32 ºF, Protect when temperatures fall below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
