Ladies Top Size M 100% Linen B/W Sleeveless Blouse Carole Little $80 Value NWOT. This sleeveless, tailored look, ladies top/blouse is made by the famous designer, Carole Little. The blouse has a v-neckline, bustline darts on each side, 2 side slits for ease of movement and a 5-button down front. It is an artsy black and white pattern. Sewn in tags state "Carole Little, M, 100% linen, made in China, dry clean only". Purchased for $80.00 at a high end/upscale dept. store on Michigan Ave. in Chicago. Purchased as a gift so the store tags were cut off, but the blouse/top is new and never worn. Perfect for gift-giving, your own "Carole Little" Clothing collection or just because you like the top. About Carole Little: In the mid-1970s, Carole Little was gearing up to make her mark in the world of retail fashion. Her first success was a simple, loose-fitting silk blouse with two patch pockets and epaulets, styled after an oversized man's shirt she had bought in Paris and loved to wear. It had a sophisticated ease, looked great with jeans or a dyed-to-match skirt and was moderately priced. That look launched Little's company as a force for working women who wanted a stylish but affordable look. Little, had a creative vision which helped turn her eponymous brand into a favorite of career women. Her first job in the apparel business was as a secretary for a Los Angeles swimsuit maker. Later she worked for a large manufacturer where she designed trendy wear, including hot pants. The division manager was Rabinowitz, who later became her husband and business partner. After a few years, they started putting Little's name on the clothes. In 2002 Cherokee Inc. bought the Carole Little label, and Little and husband Rabinowitz went on to form a design studio and produce a line of jersey-knit T-shirts. Little retired in 2013.
