I believe this folk art is a Vintage Australian Aboriginal Purnu figure resembling a Goanna lizard.
Figure is a type of pokerwork or poker art, made of hand carved wood, possibly mulga wood, with dark geometric motifs applied utilizing a pyrographic technique. Curved lines look like waves. It was very hard to photograph.
Dimensions: Length 16 " x Width 2.65"
Very good vintage condition with overall light wear. Some rubbing no deep cracks
