Surprisingly enough, neither of the two started out to be a cartoonist. Bill was a trained engineer, and Joe thought his career lay in finance. But, the creative spark burned brightly in both and finally brought them together. Their combined talent created the famous Tom and Jerry series which merited seven Academy Awards.
