I am not an expert on glass, but this dark amber swirled glass seems to me to be very old and is obviously hand made. It was found at an estate sale in Connecticut. The glass is swirled and full of bubbles, seed glass is the term? It is in a shape suitable for sherry or port wine. The base is not a perfect circle and the glass does not sit perfectly centered on the stem. You can see a pontil mark on the bottom which is not perfectly flat. The glass actually rocks slightly on the table top. The glass base is about 3-3/4 inches in diameter. The flared top is 2-1/2 inches in diameter and the height is 4-3/4 inches. Crudely made though it is, the glass still has a lot of charm and it is in perfect condition without any chips or cracks. It was pretty dirty when I found it. I believe it is antique. I welcome any comments or information on this glass.
