Up for sale is a 1929 The Savage School For Physical Education New York City PE Brass Medal
In 1899 Watson Savage opened Dr. Savage?s Physical Development Institute which was chartered as ?The New York Normal School of Physical Education? by the New York State Department of Education. Students initially went through a two-year degree program for gym and exercise after which they were certified teachers upon graduation. Later the program term was extended to three-years. The school was located at 308 West 59th Street in New York City (Bronze Icon Doc Savage Stories).
These medals seem to be rare to find. I saw one other example that had sold in the past which was made of 10K gold. This example doesn't carry this mark.
The medal is made of brass and measures 33mm in diameter.
