This is a stunning and well-preserved example of the Order of the Rising Sun, 6th Class, issued by the Empire of Japan. The medal features the classic multi-rayed silver badge with white enamel and a central dark red (oxidized silver or garnet-colored) disc. The intricate green enamel paulownia leaves and purple buds reflect Japan’s deep reverence for symbolic flora. The medal is suspended from its original white and red ribbon and comes with the original lapel rosette. It is housed in a beautiful black lacquered presentation box with gold kanji script on the lid and a rich purple velvet interior.
