Gil Elvgren Art 1963 Brown & Bigelo American and similar items

This 1963 Brown Bigelo "American Beauties" spiral calendar features artwork by Gil Elvgren. It is in excellent condition with some minor wear (February and May through July have torn holes) and it is beginning to lightly tan from age. Still, displays nicely and features amazing illustrations by Elvgren, two of which are shown for reference in addition to the front and back of the calendar. It measures 7 1/2 by 9 1/2 closed... opened it is 7 1/2 by 19 inches. It will be shipped with the utmost care. About the artist: Gil Elvgren (1914-1980) was the most important pin-up and glamour artist of the twentieth century. His professional career began in the mid 1930s and he ultimately established himself as the favorite of pin-up collectors and fans worldwide. Though mostly a commercial pin-up illustrator, Elvgren is generally recognized today as a genuine artist and his work is desired by not only private collectors and dealers but galleries and museums as well.
