The pages are tanned, have brown age spots and areas of foxing. The illustration and facing pages are foxed and pencil writing on front protective tissue. There is a stamped name in front and a label 'property of seamen's friend society.' The cover is very edge worn. Acceptable hardcover. Contents: The Embarcation, Youth, Perils of Youth, Manhood, Trials-How to be Met, Old Age, Its Enjoyments and Its End From the Preface: Upon this series of beautiful allegorical paintings this little book founds its lessons of moral wisdom. It is designed, as the title imports, to furnish the voyager with the requisite outfit. It is hoped that all who may give their attention to its pages will be better prepared to encounter the vicissitudes of the voyage, and be more likely in the end to arrive at the haven of eternal rest.
