Antique statue "Anmut" Hertwig
Collector statue in the Art Deco style depicting a nude dancer with a veil. Made in Germany by Hertwig Handicraft Brand corresponds to the period 1941-1958. The statue is well preserved without chips without restoration
Has a collective value. The Hertwig Co. porcelain company was founded in Thuringia, Germany, in 1864 by Christoph Hertwig and produced luxury products. Since 1900, the factory in Kachuta began to produce porcelain figurines in the Art Nouveau style and then in the Art Deco style, which quickly gained recognition from buyers. Many designs of the figurines were created by the sculptor
Austrian Stefan Dacon In 1958, the factory was nationalized and began to be called Katzhut (Katzhut). The range of products was sharply reduced. A very interesting fact is that at the time of nationalization many historical samples of the factory were archived. Dolls, vases and figurines were locked up and sealed in a warehouse. The archive was looted by state-owned companies in the early 1980s, with most of the items sold at auctions
in Berlin and London. Thanks to this fact, porcelain items produced in the factory before 1958 are highly valued among scholars and collectors. After the reunification of Germany in 1990 the factory was closed.
