The Wood Box is approx. 8 1/4? x 9 ? x 1 1/2? and was hand made. This box was handmade in Nicaragua by trained professionals who use only the highest quality materials. Designed to last, these boxes are built from scratch using the finest Spanish Cedar wood available on the market. This is a nice box construction including mitered corners and a set of brass corner caps. The interior features a brilliant gold and Black Logo. The box originally held 10 cigars. A Brief History of Cigar Boxes In 1863, the packaging of cigars in BOXES was made mandatory. Only cigar boxes made of glass and/or wood were permitted. Tin boxes were eventually allowed a few years later; but by 1878, laws had been relaxed to allow for novelty stogie packaging. What is a Montecristo Espada Signature cigar?
