The Connex 3300HP 10 Meter Amateur Radio is a high-performance in-vehicle radio suitable for ham operators. However, it easily converts from the 10 meter band to the 11 meter band (the Citizens Band); this is a DIY job (see below). You do not need it "peaked and tuned", because it was already adjusted for optimal performance at the factory. By definition, all 10 meter radios are NOT a CB. That is because CBs are 11 meter radios. CBs are limited to a measly 4 watts, which is why people buy 10 meter radios and convert them to 11 meter radios. Here are two conversion methods for the Connex 3300. Method One: It comes with a jumper in the accessory box. This is often called the "e-chip". You just plug it in between Pin 1 and Pin 3. Turn the radio on, let it "boot up", then turn it back off. Remove the jumper, you should be good to go. If the onboard battery dies, you will have to repeat this. But you aren't physically modifying the radio. Method Two: Go to the cluster of 4 resistors and clip each of them out. This changes the tuning circuit, you would have to reinstall these resistors to undo this change. If you are skilled with a soldering iron (and have many hours of soldering experience proving that), you can unsolder each one instead of clipping them.
