Cotton Disciplines from our CordsOfPenance Workshop are made of cotton rope 6mm (1/4") thick, by hand. This size has an average size handle and medium length falls. The handle is softer to the touch than that of the sisal disciplines, but the seven falls can, if used vigorously, sting enough to merit the name "discipline". Tried and tested product: The tighter the knots, the greater the impact. Many Christian denominations, including Anglicans, Lutherans, and Roman Catholics have used the Discipline extensively. The seven falls stand for the seven deadly sins: Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride, Sloth, and Wrath.
