The Gentex Commander Series (HS24) is a horn and strobe combination that offers dependable audible and visual alarms at low current. These models are easily field?changeable from temporal (Code 3) to a continuous tone by simply removing a jumper plug. They are shipped from the factory in the temporal alarm mode. The Commander Series comes standard with the 4 in. (10.2 cm) mounting plate. The Commander Series has a minimal operating current and has a minimum flash rate of 1 Hz regardless of input voltage. Commander Series appliances are UL Listed for use with fire protective systems Functions: Horn The horn produces a peak sound output of 90 dBA or greater as measured in an anechoic chamber. The user can select either continuous or temporal tone output. The temporal signal can be synchronized. The audible signal can be silenced while leaving the visible signal energized with the use of a single pair of power wires. Strobe: The strobe maintains a minimum flash rate of 1Hz or greater regardless of power input voltage. The appliance meets the candela requirements (75 cd) of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for the 75 cd and 110 cd models. The appliance has an operating current of 57 mA or less at 24 VDC for the 15/75 cd model. Power Supervision: The horn strobes are polarized to allow for electrical supervision of the system wiring. Each unit is provided with terminals with barriers for input and output wiring and can mount on a single?gang box, double?gang box, or double work box with the use of an adapter plate. Each unit has an input voltage range of 20 V to 31 V with either direct current or full wave rectified power.
