Descripción del Artículo
Pre-viewed for quality and plays great despite having fine scratches and a store branded donut sticker on the label side. Comes in extra heavy duty rental case. Out Of Print (OOP) as a stand-alone title, only available as a blu-ray or double feature.
The interview that almost wasn't due to the threats made by the big evil tobacco companies. Riveting and controversial film that caused a real-life snit at '60 Minutes' over the facts and portrayals in the story.
After Jeffrey Wigand (Russell Crowe) is fired from his top-level tobacco company job, he turns whistleblower, claiming his former employers lied about the dangers of cigarettes. Veteran '60 Minutes' producer Lowell Bergman (Al Pacino) and newsman Mike Wallace (Christopher Plummer) pursue the story--only to be shotdown by their own newtwork.
It seems the tobacco company has far reaching powers over the network. The fallout causes ethical consequences for all involved. Performances are outstanding--from the chameleon Crowe to the relatively subdued Pacino and the slyly pompous Plummer.
