Descripción del Artículo
12inch x 18inch Poster This poster by Robbe shows the influence of Japanese wood block prints on the Art Nouveau movement. The two women, as if halted in the moment, are pointing to a kerosene lamp that lays claim to a more advanced and safer technology. The landscape and the sky are very Japanese in flavor...as is the hairstyle of the central figure. The light seems to illuminate the entire landscape. Manuel Robbe , born in Paris on 16 December 1872 and died in Nesles-la-Vallée in 1936 , is a painter and engraver French . During the First World War , he signed drawings the pseudonym "Laffitte." There is a border around the image. The image size is correct.
