Descripción del Artículo

(4) Four Antique Real Photo Postcards, circa Pre-1920 to 1920s. Lumber mill workers and twins Harold M. Hunter and Henry Hunter. Our upper left image shows the men together in work clothes and with the tools of their trade. The reverse side reads, "Henry Harold Hunter, Twins." The other three images are of Harold M. Hunter by himself. We were able to establish his middle initial which he used in a postcard sent to a lady friend. Divided backs. All have writing on back, but only one is postally used. The postmark is from Mystic, Connecticut and was sent to Miss Lillie Bounpus of Darariscotta, Maine, but the postmark date is not readable. A studio portrait of Harold was taken in Newport, Rhode Island. Condition: Fair to good, with some creasing, cof, corner wear. Comments: These four cards came in a small packet of nine cards (all other cards sold separately) which were identified on the outside as "9 Lumbering Postcards, Chickerings Mills." One of the cards shows the Hunter twins in a large group shot of lumber camp workers. Another card depicts two workers identified as Alvah Feltis and Warren Erskine. We have been able to establish that Alvah L. Feltis was born in 1875 and is buried in Lincoln County, Maine. Three other cards are generic lumber camp scenes, one of which is written on the back, "Chickerings Mill."
