Descripción del Artículo

About the item: First printing of Dungeon of Dread, the first book in TSR's popular Endless Quest series of books and based on the RPG game Dungeons and Dragons. It is signed by Rose Estes, who also wrote this short, humorous message inside the front cover- ?This is the first edition of the second book I wrote.* Unbroken spine and tight, white pages, perfect for a collection. Although, writing inside is supposed to devalue a book. Hope you don?t think so! Enjoy! Rose Estes" Estes, the author of the book, wrote more of the Endless Quest series (nine books in total) than any other contributing author. The first four novels of the series, all written by her, remained on the best seller list for six months. She would go on to pen many more books for TSR, including six Greyhawk novels. It is also signed by Larry Elmore, acclaimed fantasy artist and best known for his large body of work for TSR, including covers and interior artwork for their RPG modules, Dragon Magazine, boxed sets, book covers for the Dragonlance series of novels, and as the artist/creator of the fan-favorite SnarfQuest comic strip. Elmore is one of the greatest fantasy artists of modern times. This book was purchased directly from Estes at the 2025 Gary Con in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where it was also signed by Larry Elmore. It is in fair condition with general use wear but not beat up- see scans). It will be shipped with the utmost care. Please note- the signatures are real. They are the actual, hand-signed signatures of Elmore and Estes (and the message inside is hand-written by Estes). They are not pre-printed images. *Estes' first book was part of the popular 'The Three Investigators' series, The Case of the Dancing Dinosaur. About the Endless Quest series: With Endless Quest, readers stepped into worlds of adventure inspired by TSR's iconic settings. Published over the course of two decades, these books were conceived by Rose Estes and ultimately emerged from TSR?s innovative Educational department, allowing readers to embody fearless heroes in the fantasy realms of Dungeons Dragons. Designed for multiple readings?where each choice directed readers to specific pages to reveal the consequences?the Endless Quest series offered dynamic storytelling with varied outcomes. Across two main series and the four-book Crimson Crystal Adventures spin-off, a total of 49 books were published between 1982 and 1996. Reprinted multiple times to meet demand, these books are now cherished nostalgic treasures, representing a legacy that spanned over a decade and left a lasting impact on adventure gaming.
